Kathleen Ryall, in the design and manufacture of her porcelain, combines the individuality of the fine-art with the precision associated with the industrial potter; this results in refined elegant shapes, with crisp, contrasting colors and subtle, tactile finishes
Kathleen’s formative years were spent at Newcastle School Of Art (England) and Cardiff College Of Art (Wales); there she developed her love and use of color, producing paintings and sculptures that were expressions of her personal space. She gained an M.A. in ceramics from Staffordshire University in1977. Kathleen has had a varied career a designer of toys, exhibitions and interiors; also as an illustrator and artist for the ceramics industry.
Kathleen now divides her work and time between her homes in Oxford, North Carolina, USA and Newcastle-under-Lyme Staffordshire UK.
